The ancient Chavín civilization existed around 3,000 years ago. The first known civilisation to work with plant medicines in ceremony, Specifically huachuma otherwise known as San Pedro. 🌵 Pilgrims from across the Andes journeyed to the temple of Chavín de Huántar to participate in sacred ceremonies. ✨ seeking guidance, healing and the ability to connect with the spiritual world. 🪶 there's so much I could write about this civilization, but for now I want to share on a more personal note.
Around 7 years ago I had a dream, I was in another country, in a cave like room and in the center of the room was a giant huachuma 🌵 At the time I didn't know about the medicinal properties of the plant. In the dream I was learning alot from a man, who seemed to be not of this world. A magical being in human form. He was a wise being 🧙♂️, teaching me many things about the cactus and the cave like room we were in. This was one of many dreams from around that time that eventually led me to Peru. 🌎
it feels almost surreal to be standing inside the walls of the temple that called me forward all those years ago. 🙏🏽💫
Huachuma has gifted me so many things in life. Especially the feeling of gaining my life back in many ways 🎁 a big teaching that is coming through for me over the time that I've been In Peru is patience. With an unwavering trust and faith in my connection to this medicine 🌵patience that everything in life takes the time it needs, and sometimes that means trusting when something isn't unfolding in the way you imagined. as they say, trust in the detours. ⛰️ I can feel I'm being prepared in the ways that are necessary to continue this work in a way that feels right for me. In ways I didn't plan for. 🌸
