To drink the medicine of ayahuasca, we do not need to be excessively prepared in the mind or fill ourselves with information. What is most important is to arrive with humility, respect, and an open heart. Many times, expectations create blockages, because the mind tries to control the experience or compare it with what others have lived. However, every encounter with the medicine is unique, because each person carries their own story, wounds, memories, and energies.
The way we live, our experiences from birth, and even the experiences of our parents and ancestors influence how energy manifests within us. That is why the medicine works differently in each being. There are no better or worse experiences; all are processes of learning, cleansing, and healing.
This is not only true with ayahuasca, but with every master plant medicine, spiritual work, meditation, sound baths, energetic cleansings, or energetic extractions (sucking) from the crown (central chakra) or the navel. In all these processes, we should not hold rigid expectations, because in reality we do not fully know our own spiritual world. Only when we begin to connect , sometimes with the help of a master guide or an experienced facilitator , can we gradually enter into the understanding of our inner universe.
Sometimes it is better not to read too much information or fill ourselves with external ideas before a ceremony or energetic work. Instead, it is more helpful to focus on ourselves, on the breath, the body, and the heart. The medicine does not require us to understand everything with the mind; it works on deep levels of the soul and spirit.
Before receiving the cup, or before any spiritual practice, you can connect internally with respect and simplicity. No complicated words are needed — only sincerity. For example:
“Mother Ayahuasca, Grandmother Ayahuasca, I receive you with humility and love. Heal and cure what needs to be healed. Show me what I need to understand. Reveal my paths with wisdom so I may know myself better and move forward with peace, love, and clarity. You know what I need.”
Trust is essential. The medicine is spiritual intelligence, and it always works for the deepest well-being, even if the process can sometimes be intense. When we release control and allow the experience to flow, the connection becomes deeper.
Every ceremony, every meditation, and every energetic work is a dialogue between your spirit and the spiritual world. You only need to be present, breathe, feel, and trust. Little by little, with experience and the right guidance, the path reveals itself.
