At Oka Wasi, we are slowly bringing everything back into readiness: completing the last repairs, tending to the garden, caring for our plants, refreshing the spaces, and attending to all those little details that make this place feel like home.

Soon, the silence will be filled again with footsteps, conversations, laughter, songs, and new stories.

After this time of rest and preparation, we are getting ready to open our doors once again and begin a new cycle of work alongside some truly amazing souls — people who arrive with dedication, commitment, courage, and a sincere willingness to meet themselves deeply.

We cannot wait to welcome you into our little corner of the Amazon, to walk beside you, and to hold a safe and loving space for everything this journey may bring.

There is a place where the forest rises into misty mountains, where water is born in silence and begins its journey downward. Just beyond Tarapoto, this living landscape breathes through waterfalls, roots, and unseen currents a raw, sustaining force - the Cordillera Escalera National Park.

It is here, within this field of vibrant and untamed natural energy, that we have rooted our home and healing center, Oka Wasi.

Around us, our botanical garden is slowly taking shape. Each plant is invited, tended, and woven into a living tapestry: master plants, medicinal plants, flowers and trees, beings that carry their own ancient intelligence.

There is always something bittersweet about the closing of a season.

For a few months, we have lived side by side with the people who arrived as strangers and leave as family, and with the plants, who held and taught us in their own mysterious ways. So much has moved, softened, broken open, and reassembled.

And now, as the jungle exhales and the space grows quiet again, we, too, step back, carrying the echoes of songs, prayers, laughter, and tears, feeling grateful for every story that has touched us so deeply.

Family brewing time! Our medicine is made from our own caapi vines and chacruna leaves, cultivated on our land and cooked here, in our own aya kitchen.

This path requires time and devotion. A caapi vine needs a minimum of 8–10 years to grow into its true strength. The depth of the experience is not defined by the quantity of chacruna, but by the age, integrity, and spirit of the vine itself. For years, we have been restoring this land, planting, waiting, and learning to walk in relationship with these plants. Today, we are able to serve a brew that is truly ours, from seed to cup.

And there is something else we hold close to heart: it is said that when children are present, when they move freely among the plants, play, laugh, and touch the leaves with innocence, the spirits are pleased. Their joy softens the space, their presence brings lightness, and the plants seem to respond in kind.

There are moments when a space transforms into something sacred, because of the people who step into it with open hearts. This retreat became one of those moments.

What was really special is that so many beautiful women gathered here, to shed layers, and to meet themselves beyond the surface. Each story unique, each path different, yet all woven together in a shared field of honesty and transformation.

With the support of the sacred plants, you chose truth over comfort, softness over defense, and trust over control. You stayed present through what was difficult, and allowed something real to emerge.

Our first retreat of 2026. This beautiful group stepped into the healing path with the plants in a truly heartfelt way, meeting the ceremonies with courage and openness. It was a privilege to walk beside them through the process and witness the quiet, powerful shifts that unfolded.
