Let’s talk about FAMILY PLANNING🥰
WHAT IS LARC: “Long-Acting Reversible Contraception”

LARC methods are birth-control options that work for months to years but can be removed anytime if you want to become pregnant. They are among the most effective reversible methods and are generally safe for most women.

3types:
1. Implant 💪
* A small, flexible rod placed under the skin of the upper arm.
* Works for up to 3 - 5 years (depending on the product).
* >99% effective.
* Fertility usually returns quickly after removal.
* Most common concern: irregular or unpredictable bleeding.

2. Hormonal IUD (IUS) 🌸
* A small device placed inside the uterus.
* Works for 3–8 years, depending on the type.
* >99% effective.
* Often makes periods lighter and less painful; some women stop having periods.
* Fertility returns quickly after removal.

3. Copper IUD 🩷
* Hormone-free device placed inside the uterus.
* Works for up to 10+ years, depending on the product.
* >99% effective.
* Periods can become heavier or more crampy, especially during the first few months.
* Also provides very long-lasting contraception without hormones.

In simple terms:

Implant = arm
Hormonal IUD = uterus + hormones
Copper IUD = uterus + no hormones

These are all temporary & once removed, your ability to become pregnant generally returns rapidly.

LARC can be a particularly convenient option because you don’t have to remember a pill every day or return frequently for injections.

‼️ BUT none of these methods protect against sexually transmitted infections (STI). Only condoms can protect you from these diseases.
