🐾 Keep them dry – Dry their paws, belly, and coat thoroughly after going outside.
🏠 Keep them warm & cozy – Provide a clean, dry, comfortable sleeping area away from drafts.
🍗 Feed a balanced diet – Good nutrition helps support their overall health and immune system.
🎾 Keep them active indoors – Play, training, and mental stimulation can help prevent boredom.
💧 Always provide fresh water – Staying hydrated is important even on cool, rainy days.
🩺 Watch for signs of illness – Coughing, sneezing, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite should not be ignored.

Maggot infestation in dogs, also called myiasis, occurs when flies lay eggs on a dog’s skin or in an open wound. The eggs hatch into larvae (maggots), which feed on dead tissue and, in severe cases, healthy tissue. This is a medical emergency because the infestation can spread quickly and lead to severe infection, shock, or even death if left untreated.

• Loss of appetite
• Lethargy or weakness
• Increased drinking and urination
• Vomiting
• Abdominal enlargement
• Foul-smelling vaginal discharge (may not always be present)

🚨 Important: Some cases are “closed pyometra,” where no discharge is seen, making the condition even more dangerous.

• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Seizures
• High body temperature
