Duties & Responsibilities:
Β· Reviews medical record documentation and accurately assigns appropriate ICD-10 diagnoses and ICD10 PCS procedure codes, leading to the assignment of the correct Medicare Severity - Diagnosis Related
Group, (MS-DRG) or All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Group, (APR-DRG)
Β· Correctly abstract required data per facility specifications
Β· Responsible for monitoring and working of accounts that are Discharged Not Final Billed, failed claims, stop bills, and as a team, ensure timely, compliant processing of inpatient accounts through the billing system
Β· Responsible to ensure accuracy and maintain established quality, productivity standards, and key performance indicators established for 3M 360 or for eCAC
Β· Remain abreast of current Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, (CMS) requirements as well as Correct Coding Initiative, (CCI) edits, Hospital Β·Acquired Conditions, (HAC& #39;s) and when applicable,
Β·National Coverage Determinations, (NCDs) and Local Coverage Β·Determinations, (LCDs,) including the addition of appropriate modifiers to ensure a clean claim the first time through.
Qualifications:
Β· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent academic hospital experience.
Β· Systems: 3+ years of recent Epic and Solventum (3M) experience.
Β· Certification: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA is required (CIC may be considered if all other experience requirements are met).
Β· Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field of Allied Medical courses
Β· Strong domain knowledge in Coding Clinics.
Β· Good exposure in ICD Guidelines and new born charts
Β· Hands-on exposure to MS-DRG, APR-DRG, PCS, PDX sections, and CC/MCC sections.
Β· Should have experience with a 3M or medical coding tool and be willing to take an online or onsite assessment
