Kakaibang postura? Baka scoliosis na yan!

Marami sa atin ang nag-iisip na kapag tabingi ang likod, posture lang ang problema. Pero hindi ganun kasimple.

Ang scoliosis ay isang kondisyon kung saan ang spine ay may abnormal na curve — hindi lang paharap o patalikod, kundi pahilis sa gilid. Sa ibang cases, may kasamang pag-twist ang spine.

Mga signs na dapat bantayan:
• Ang isang balikat ay mas mataas kaysa sa isa
• Ang isang balakang ay mas nakataas
• May curve na makikita sa likod kapag yumuko

Kapag hindi ito na-address agad, maaaring lumala ang curve over time — at magdulot ng pain, imbalance, hirap sa paggalaw at sa paghinga.

The good news — with proper assessment and treatment, maaari itong matugunan nang maaga.
