For 14 years, she has bravely lived with microcephaly—blessed and sustained by her family’s endless love and care. As her doctor, the hardest part was reaching the point of choosing to let go and trust God. When severe pneumonia left her breathless and weak, we all feared the end was near. But her family pleaded for more time—her grandmother was fighting cancer too, and losing her precious granddaughter would be too heavy a cross to bear.

We are forever grateful to every doctor, nurse, and caregiver who walked this journey with us. Against all odds, and even with a “do not resuscitate” order, she pulled through. When the family later decided to remove life support, keeping only comfort care, she surprised us all once more—she grew stronger, recovered, and went home alive, where she remains today.

Truly, God hears every cry and holds every worry close. When we pray with all our hearts, He grants us grace beyond what we could ever hope for. 🙏✨

I recently cared for an 8-month-old who was in critical condition because of it. It's a scary situation for any parent. Fortunately, she survived. Grandmother of my patient's years ago, had Colon Cancer Stage 2, her doctors resected the tumor & she opted to skip Chemo for personal & financial reasons. All we can do is pray for healing.The pandemic did not allow us to see each other. I missed her. Years ago she would drop by my clinic, give me her home made pitchi- pitchi and catch up.
