Too often, we focus on what we seeโ the behavior, the challenges, the disruptions. But behind every behavior is a child with a story, a need, and a desire to belong.
Inclusion goes beyond tolerance, โ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ค.โ
It goes beyond acceptance, โ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ค.โ
True inclusion is belongingโโ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ค.โ
It is creating classrooms where every learner feels seen, understood, valued, and given meaningful opportunities to participate and succeed.
Last June 3, 2026, during ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ง ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ at ๐๐ผ๐น๐ ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐น๐ ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐บ๐, we were honored to have ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐, ๐ข๐ง๐ฅ๐ฃ, President of Kiddo, lead a meaningful conversation on looking beyond behavior and understanding the child, not just the challenge.
As educators, therapists, and advocates, may we continue building learning environments where diversity is embraced, differences are understood, and every child knows that they have a place in the classroomโnot merely to be present, but to truly belong.
