Swimmer’s Ear: Protect Your Ears This Summer 🏊‍♂️

Swimmer’s ear (otitis externa) is an infection of the outer ear caused by trapped water that allows bacteria to grow.

How to avoid:
• Dry ears well after swimming
• Tilt head to remove trapped water
• Avoid inserting cotton buds or objects into the ear

Why Does My Child Keep Getting Ear Infections?

Children have smaller and more horizontal Eustachian tubes, making it easier for fluid and bacteria to get trapped. This can lead to recurrent otitis media (middle ear infection), especially after colds or allergies.

Frequent infections may require ENT evaluation, possible hearing tests, or ear tube placement.
