The Philhealth YAKAP Caravan and PuroKalusugan Launching was successfully conducted today, June 02, 2026, at the Brgy. Dist. III Basketball Court. Our citizens received on-site PhilHealth registration and accessible primary medical services to ensure that Bawat Buhay Mahalaga.

Thank you to Hon. Mayor Eleonor B. Lugnasin, Dr. Julieta C. Conge, our supportive Barangay Captains, and Mr. Raul Arma of PhilHealth LHIO PAMO. Join Us in Saving Lives!

The Municipality of Babatngon, in partnership with Eastern Visayas Medical Center-Blood Bank, invites you to our Blood Donation Drive this coming March 31, 2026 in the Municipal Gymnasium, Brgy. Dist. II, Babatngon, Leyte.

A single donation can save up to three lives. Your simple act of kindness can mean the world to someone in need.

WHO CAN DONATE BLOOD?
*Age 18-65 years old (16-17 years old with parental consent)
*Weight at least 50 kgs. (110lbs)
*Healthy and well-rested
*Have not donated blood in the past 3 months

PREPARATION TIPS:
*Eat a healthy meal and avoid fatty foods.
*Stay hydrated before and after donating.
*Avoid smoking and alcohol intake before donation.

We are encouraging everyone to donate blood and help make a difference.

We would like to inform the public that the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Babatngon, located at Melchor St., Brgy. District II, Babatngon, Leyte, has been temporarily transferred to the Super Health Center – Babatngon to give way for the ongoing rehabilitation and improvement of the RHU building.

The Super Health Center is located along the National Road, Brgy. District III, Babatngon, Leyte and will serve as our temporary facility where all health services and consultations will continue to be offered.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Rest assured that despite the relocation, our commitment to providing quality healthcare services remains our top priority.

As part of the continuing public health initiative to address the growing burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs)—including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other lifestyle-related illnesses—the Municipal Health Office (Rural Health Unit - RHU) of Babatngon, in strong partnership with the Department of Health’s Human Resources for Health (DOH DTTB/HRH) Program, launched a NCD Prevention and Control Program for the 4Ps beneficiaries and the residents of Barangay Villa Magsaysay and Barangay Rizal II, Babatngon, Leyte.

This initiative aligns with the national framework for NCD control, aiming to reduce preventable morbidity and mortality by promoting early detection, healthy lifestyle practices, and improved access to essential health services at the community level.

This event aimed to raise awareness about mental health and su***de prevention among the youth, promote open conversations, and remind everyone that their life and voice truly matter.

Through interactive discussions and support-driven activities, students were empowered to seek help, support one another, and break the stigma.

The Local Government Unit of Babatngon, in partnership with the Municipal Health Office, Department of Health, DepEd Babatngon, and other key stakeholders, proudly launched a Youth Symposium on Teenage Pregnancy and STI/HIV/AIDS Prevention across senior high schools in the municipality! 🏫👩‍🏫🧠

This educational campaign aims to:

A Family Development Session was successfully conducted on August 12, 2025, at the Municipal Gymnasium, focusing on the importance of prenatal check-ups and exclusive breastfeeding. The session aimed to raise awareness among families—especially expectant and new mothers—about the critical role of proper prenatal care in ensuring maternal and infant health, as well as the numerous benefits of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life.

Awareness Campaign on Teenage Pregnancy and STI/HIV/AIDS for Senior High School students at Emeterio Federica Gerez National High School held on August 11, 2025

The event carried the theme:

"Empowered Youth: Informed Choices, Healthy Futures"

🎯 Objectives of the Symposium:

-Educate students on the causes and consequences of teenage pregnancy.

-Provide accurate information about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), including HIV and AIDS.

-Encourage responsible decision-making and self-awareness among adolescents.

-Promote open discussion around reproductive health and wellness.

The symposium was made possible through the collaboration of the School Guidance Office, Department of Health, Municipal Health Office, Local Youth Development Office and Municipal Population Commission.

The symposium succeeded in increasing student awareness and reducing stigma surrounding discussions of sexual health. Feedback from students highlighted the importance of continuing such educational efforts to promote healthy and responsible lifestyles among the youth.

In celebration of National Breastfeeding Month, a Breastfeeding Symposium was successfully conducted on August 7, 2025, at the Municipal Gymnasium. This activity was part of the Social Behavior Change initiatives under the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP).

The event brought together healthcare professionals, breastfeeding advocates, mothers, and community members to promote, support, and raise awareness about the vital role of breastfeeding in maternal and child health.

The symposium featured a series of informative talks on key topics, including:

The benefits of exclusive breastfeeding

Maternal nutrition

Breastfeeding in the workplace

Common challenges in breastfeeding

The role of the family in a mother's breastfeeding journey

The importance of community support systems

This initiative underscored the municipality’s strong commitment to building a breastfeeding-friendly community, in alignment with this year’s National Breastfeeding Month theme. As part of the event, participants also received breastfeeding kits to further support their journey.

The event was organized by the Rural Health Unit of Babatngon and Local Government Unit of Babatngon, in collaboration with the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project, and was attended by 100 lactating mothers from various barangays.

Together, we continue to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding as a vital public health responsibility.
