We are pleased to share that BTRC has just concluded an impactful two days of academic and clinical engagement at the 7th Regional Scientific Symposium hosted by the Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (PSDBP). Held from September 3–4 at the Citadines Hotel in Bacolod City, this year’s symposium—entitled I.N.C.L.U.D.E. 2026—served as a vital forum for addressing current paradigms in pediatric care.
The program successfully bridged the gap between foundational advocacy and clinical innovation, offering crucial takeaways for modern practice.
The sessions emphasized that clinical outcomes improve significantly when therapeutic strategies are systematically integrated across home, school, and community environments. Collaborative frameworks between developmental pediatricians, educators, and allied medical professionals, such as Occupational and Speech Therapists, remain paramount.
A key highlight was evaluating the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in neurodevelopmental monitoring. The integration of digital health tools offers promising avenues for streamlining early screening workflows and scaling diagnostic accessibility.
Through regional metrics, delegates analyzed existing systemic gaps in specialized education and healthcare delivery across the Philippines. This underscores an urgent mandate for healthcare leaders to leverage localized data to advocate for equitable resource distribution.
The overriding objective of the symposium was clear: our field must progress beyond simple awareness toward building robust frameworks of systemic acceptance, equity, and evidence-based interventions. Our BTRC representatives will return to practice equipped with refined strategies and a renewed commitment to elevating the standard of care for children with neurodevelopmental needs.
Our sincere commendations to the PSDBP leadership and the organizing committee for executing an exemplary and highly collaborative scientific program.
