Scars can remind us of things we wish had never happened.

This particular scar is quite challenging. But even at just 4 weeks, you can already see meaningful changes: the scar has contracted and shrunk, while the skin in the middle has started to elevate and improve in texture.

We’ve come a long way, but there is still a long way to go. 🤍

Scar improvement takes time. Some scars are more difficult than others, and we don’t promise perfection. We focus on progress—careful treatment, patience, and consistency.

Your scar may be part of your story, but it doesn’t have to define how you feel about your skin.

Keep healing. Keep going. ✨

When the Gym Triggers Back Acne 🏋🏻‍♂️

I recently had a patient who noticed something interesting: his back acne became worse after he started spending 1–2 hours working out at the gym.

And yes, there can be a connection.

When you exercise intensely for prolonged periods—especially in a warm, poorly ventilated gym—you sweat more. Add tight workout clothing, friction from benches and equipment, and staying in sweaty clothes for some time, and you have the perfect environment for clogged pores and breakouts.

I actually joked with him, “I thought you weren’t going to the gym anymore. If that’s the case, then let’s NOT treat your acne!” 😂

Because you know me—I’m a big promoter of fitness. You don’t have to give up your fitness just because you’re dealing with acne. You can absolutely do both: work on your health and treat your skin.

You simply need to make a few adjustments:

✨ Shower as soon as reasonably possible after training.
✨ Change out of sweaty workout clothes promptly.
✨ Keep workout clothes and towels clean.
✨ Avoid aggressive scrubbing, which can further irritate the skin.

And if your back acne is persistent, severe, or poorly controlled despite these measures, it’s best to consult a doctor so the right treatment can be recommended.

Your lifestyle shouldn’t have to work against your skin. Sometimes, it’s simply about understanding what triggers your breakouts and making small, consistent changes.

Train hard. Sweat. Get stronger. Treat your skin. You don’t have to choose. 🤍

Some of the most meaningful results are the ones you maintain over time.

Today, I saw a returning patient who has been with me for the past 2–3 years.

She initially came to me for laser treatment for syringomas. Over the years, she has also had other treatments, including Botox. Today was her third Botox treatment, and she has been consistent with it every 4–6 months.

Why the consistency?

Because prevention and maintenance matter. When dynamic lines are treated regularly, they are easier to manage before they become deeply etched. The goal is not to change her face, but to preserve a refreshed, natural appearance.

But what I value most is something beyond the treatment itself.

She feels better about herself.

And that matters.

Because aesthetics, when done thoughtfully, isn't about becoming someone else. It's about taking care of yourself, aging intentionally, and feeling confident in the face you see in the mirror.

Sometimes, feeling better about yourself is reason enough.

And perhaps that is one of the most beautiful things about aesthetic medicine:

You don't have to change who you are to feel more confident being you. ✨

Some things take time. And sometimes, the hardest part is trusting the process before you can see the result. ✨

I saw a patient today for her follow-up. Five weeks ago, she had HIFU treatment with me. Before the treatment, I explained that while some subtle changes may be noticed immediately, the results become more appreciable over the following weeks.

After her treatment, I could already see a difference with my trained eye. She, however, couldn't see it yet.

And understandably, she became apprehensive.

Age was also an important factor. The same treatment in a younger patient may produce a more noticeable or dramatic early change. As we age, the skin and underlying tissues respond differently, and expectations need to be realistic.

So I reassured her: give it more time.

Today, five weeks later, she came back and told me she loved her results. She said she began noticing a much more pronounced improvement around the third week after treatment.

And it reminded me of something beyond aesthetics:

Not everything that is working is immediately visible.

Sometimes, we look at ourselves—or our lives—and think, Nothing is happening.

But perhaps the process is already underway.
Perhaps the change is happening beneath the surface.
Perhaps we simply haven't reached the point where we can see it yet.

Our job is to keep doing our part, stay patient, make adjustments when necessary, and trust the process.

Because some things take time.

And sometimes, the result you're waiting for is already on its way. ✨

Progress isn't always immediate. But that doesn't mean progress isn't happening.

KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

I learned this lesson from my own weight-loss journey.

Back in 2024, I lost 18 pounds in two months while on our weight-loss treatment. But after 90 days, the scale stopped moving.

By December, I was still at 180 pounds.

And I gave up.

I told myself, “This isn’t working.”

Looking back, I realize that I didn’t just stop losing weight.

I stopped moving forward.

I attached the plateau to a feeling of failure. Instead of stepping back, looking at things objectively, and asking what went wrong, I simply decided that I had failed.

I didn’t ask questions.
I didn’t analyze.
I didn’t learn from it.

I just stopped.

Then came July 2025, when I decided to try again.

And this time, I understood something:

Moving forward doesn’t mean everything will always go according to plan.

There were plateaus. There were moments when my weight even went up despite doing what I believed was everything right.

But this time, I kept moving.

When something wasn’t working, I became curious.

I asked questions.
I looked at what was happening.
I analyzed.
I learned.
I adjusted.

And then I kept going.

By January 2026, I had lost 33 kilos in 6.5 months.

The difference wasn’t that my second journey was perfect.

The difference was that I refused to let a setback become a stopping point.

And maybe this is something we can all apply—not just to weight loss, but to life.

You will have days when you feel stuck.

You will have seasons when your efforts don’t seem to produce results.

You may even wonder if all your hard work is worth it.

But don’t confuse a pause in progress with the end of your journey.

Stop. Reflect. Learn. Adjust.

Then keep moving forward.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You just need to be willing to take the next step.

Because sometimes, the biggest difference between where you are and where you want to be is simply this:

You kept moving forward.

I LOOK BACK AT MY OWN WEIGHT-LOSS JOURNEY SOMETIMES AND THINK, “DAMN… I REALLY LOST 33 KILOS.”

33 kilos in 6.5 months.

And now, seeing my patients go through their own journeys, I realize something even more deeply:

THEY INSPIRE ME, TOO. ❤️

I recently saw a patient whom I had last seen about 10 months ago. He only had ONE SESSION with me.

But he had something incredibly powerful: a strong WHY.

His weight was preventing him from being cleared to return to work as a seafarer.

So he took accountability. He combined his treatment with something as simple as WALKING—and he took action.

After that one session, he lost 6 kilos in just 2–3 weeks.

That is what intentionality looks like.

It is not simply saying, “I want to lose weight.”

It is knowing WHY you need to change, making a decision, taking responsibility, and then consistently putting that decision into action.

A STRONG WHY CREATES INTENTIONALITY.
INTENTIONALITY CREATES ACTION.
AND ACTION CREATES CHANGE.

Your transformation does not happen because you want it badly enough.

It happens when your WHY becomes strong enough to make you DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

And honestly?

My patients remind me of that every day.

Their journeys inspire me just as much as my own journey continues to inspire me. ✨

KNOW YOUR WHY.
BE INTENTIONAL.
TAKE ACTION.

That is where transformation begins. 🤍

HOW TO KNOW YOU’VE BECOME LEANER—EVEN IF THE SCALE DIDN’T MOVE

The scale is only ONE measure of progress. Your body can change even when the number doesn’t.

1. 👗 YOUR CLOTHES FIT BETTER
Your waistbands feel looser and your clothes sit differently.

2. 📸 YOUR PROGRESS PHOTOS LOOK DIFFERENT
Take photos in the same clothes, lighting, angle, and posture. Compare them every few weeks.

3. 📏 YOUR MEASUREMENTS ARE GOING DOWN
Measure your waist, chest, and hips. You can also track your thighs, arms, or other areas.

4. 💍 YOUR JEWELRY FITS DIFFERENTLY
A looser ring or watch can be a subtle sign that your body circumference has changed.

5. 💪 YOU ARE GETTING STRONGER
If you're lifting heavier or doing more reps, your body is adapting. You may be losing fat while gaining muscle.

6. 🧍‍♀️ YOUR POSTURE HAS IMPROVED
Getting stronger can help you stand taller and move with greater control and confidence.

7. 🚶‍♀️ YOU MOVE MORE EASILY
Stairs, walking, carrying things, and everyday activities feel less difficult.

8. 🪞 YOU FEEL MORE CONFIDENT
Not because you reached a particular number, but because you recognize what your body can now DO.

9. 🎯 YOU ARE MORE CONSISTENT
Healthy habits are becoming part of your lifestyle—not something you do temporarily.

REMEMBER:

FAT LOSS ≠ WEIGHT LOSS.

You can lose fat, gain muscle, retain water, and see little or no movement on the scale.

So don't let ONE NUMBER determine whether you are succeeding.

MEASURE YOUR PROGRESS. DON’T JUST WEIGH IT.

The goal isn't simply to become lighter.

The goal is to become healthier, stronger, fitter, and more capable. 💪
