n in the country, committed to provide quality life-saving services that protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations. It is the tale of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people who devoted their time and resources to help the poorest of the poor. Professionally trained and truly compassionate, these men and women are ready to lend a helping hand to those in need โ€“ whoever, whenever and wherever they may be. In all its 67 years of reputable existence, the Philippine Red Cross has lived through many changes that were intended to help more people. Where it used to be involved only in providing blood and in disaster-related activities, the Philippine Red Cross now focuses on a holistic approach to uplift the condition of the most vulnerable. Where it used to offer short-term palliatives, it now offers a wider array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling, to youth leadership. At present, the Philippine Red Cross provides six major services: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services. All of them embody the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement โ€“ humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. These values guide and inspire all Red Cross staff and volunteers, to whom being a Red Crosser is more than just a philosophy but a way of life. Join the Red Cross. We take pride in urging all Filipinos to take part in the heroism of the Philippine Red Cross by becoming a full-pledged member, volunteer, or donor. The Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidentalโ€“Bacolod City Chapter Emergency Response Unit (ERU), under the leadership of Chapter Administrator Rita Benita P. Mirasol, represented during the graduation by Ma. Cornelia Zarceรฑo, and with the steadfast support of Chairman Carlos S. Ganihong, successfully concluded the 4-Day Mandatory Fire Brigade Training in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacolod.

On the final day, participants underwent the Final Practicum in Interior Fire Fighting and Search and Rescue, where they demonstrated the knowledge, discipline, and operational skills acquired throughout the training. Under the guidance of BFP instructors, participants applied firefighting and rescue techniques in simulated emergency scenarios, emphasizing teamwork, safety, and effective response.

The program concluded with a Graduation Ceremony, recognizing the dedication, perseverance, and commitment of every participant in completing the training. More than receiving a certificate, each graduate leaves with enhanced competence, greater confidence, and a renewed responsibility to protect lives and property whenever emergencies arise.

The Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidentalโ€“Bacolod City Chapter extends its sincere appreciation to the Bureau of Fire Protection Bacolod, headed by FSUPT Jenny Mae C. Masip, MPA, represented by SFO1 Jose Samuel G. Lapuz, together with the entire BFP Bacolod team, for their invaluable partnership, exemplary instruction, and unwavering dedication to advancing fire safety and emergency response.

This successful collaboration is a testament to what can be achieved when agencies work together with one purposeโ€”to build communities that are prepared, resilient, and ready to respond when every second counts.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Barangay Taculing, the Barangay Taculing Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG), and the Barangay Taculing Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Council for generously providing the venue for Day 3 of the training. Your support and collaboration greatly contributed to the success of this program and reflected our shared commitment to advancing fire safety, emergency preparedness, and community resilience.

Together, we continue to uphold our commitment to humanity through preparedness, partnership, and service. ๐Ÿ”ฅ
