Inspection was done and findings were related to the patient. There was discharge at the bottom of the vaginal area.. Upon speculum examination, Yellowish vaginal discharge copious in amount (meaning more than the normal and
flowing out) was noted, the cervix was fragile and easily bled to touch. Specimens were collected and submitted to the laboratory
Vaginal discharge that is mucopurulent (parang nana) SHOULD always , on the part of the patient raise a suspicion of a sexually transmitted infection
As the name implies it is transferred through sexual in*******se. It doesnt occur spontaneously out of nowhere. FYI you dont get it from using an infected toilet. Ok so misis, its easy to tell whether some strange things are going on in your domestic life at this point. So this merits a thorough investation.
Mucopurulent discharge or madilaw na discharge is often diagnosed as having Mucopurulent cervicitis. It could be asymptomatic (walang nararamdaman) or an examiner could notice bleeding upon touching with a cotton swab. Sometimes it could manifest as bleeding after sexual contact, intermenstrual bleeding, pain when urinating or even lower abdominal pain
Gonorrhea and Chlamydia are the two most common sexually transmitted infections causing mucopurulent cervicitis.
Question : Are these the only infections that are responsible for the Sexually transmitted deseases?
No .. you see when either partner engages in a non monogamous sexual relationship you may contract any kind of STI. The infection from the new partner is like a bowl of soup that has many ingredients. Pwedeng may sahog na gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas, HIV, hepatitis B o syphillis. So just like scooping some soup from a cauldron, you cannot choose which ingredient you want for your serving. You may get any kind of flavoring.
So in a situation like this as sad as it may sound.. help could be offered and theres cure...dont worry..
