Looking back on our year so far, we cast the spotlight on one of our important launches within GGTCβs Empower Me program, the βWired Differently, Loved Completelyβ seminar presented last April 11 and attended by our dedicated mothers to understand how to continue therapy interventions at home.
Highlighted as their culminating project, the 7th batch of BS Psychology interns from the University of the Cordilleras were trained and mentored by our occupational therapist, t. Joan Badecao, OTRP, to integrate all the information learned and gathered from our multi-disciplinary team in order to share valuable information to our attendees. Our OTs themselves also discussed critical concepts regarding sensory processing and integration, and Developmental Play strategies which connected to the different lenses in which behavior and development should be viewed.
We are thankful to everyone who invested efforts in this project, as it allowed us to make into reality a crucial learning opportunity that we believe parents and teachers should partake in, because progress should not only be dependent on professionals. We look forward to developing this project further in collaboration with other institutions and even LGUs. Small wins first, bigger battles later. π§‘ππ
