Patient: Doc kaya pa bang mapakinis yung mukha ko before magpasukan?

Doc Yza: Let’s try our best but you have to promise na magiging masipag ka mag-apply ng skincare regimen natin!

Here is our progress after 4 weeks of consistently applying personalized acne medications (student friendly) still a long way to go to achieve full acne control but we are very happy with his skin so far.✨

As I always tell my patients, the most important part of the management of acne vulgaris is compliance and patience. And with continuous use of medications and regular follow-ups with your board-certified dermatologist, acne control is always possible. 😉

To all my acne patients, remember I’m always proud of you! 💪🏻🫶🏻

May is skin cancer awareness month ☀️

Sharing this before-and-after if one of my patients with Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) who successfully underwent removal via Mohs surgery.

BCC is the most common skin cancer worldwide and while not as common it can absolutely happens to Filipinos, too. Caught early, it is highly treatable!

Here are some tips on what you need to know:

🔎 WHAT TO LOOK FOR (On Filipino Skin)

BCC on brown skin doesn’t always look like the classic pearly white bump. Watch out for:

The “Invisible” Pimple: A firm, shiny bump (often brown, black, or dark gray) that doesn’t go away.

The Non-Healing Sugat: A small sore or scab that bleeds easily, crusts over, and keeps coming back.

‼️ HOW TO AVOID IT

☀️ Sunscreen Daily: Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ above, every single day—even on cloudy days or when commuting.

☂️ Payong & Shade: Use your umbrella and seek shade, especially between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Wear wide-brimmed hats and UV-protected sunglasses when outdoors. 😎

Don't wait for a suspicious bump or “sugat na ayaw gumaling” to get worse. Skip the home remedies and consult a board-certified dermatologist today! 🩺✨

⚠️ Only licensed medical doctors are allowed to perform botulinum toxin injections, fillers and skin boosters. Administration of IV glutathione and prescription of peptides (Tirzepatide, NAD etc) can only be performed under the supervision of a licensed physician.

To find a Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) board-certified dermatologist, use the official PDS website search tool to filter by name, location, or hospital. Look for the credentials "DPDS" (Diplomate) or "FPDS" (Fellow) after the doctor's name, which signifies they have passed the rigorous specialty board exams.

Clear skin doesn’t happen overnight—and that’s okay.

Acne treatment requires time, patience, and consistency. What matters most is staying committed to the process, even when progress feels slow. Small improvements add up, and with the right guidance and care, real results follow.

1 month in, and we’re already seeing calmer skin, fewer breakouts, and healthier texture ✨

Improvement is not impossible—it’s a journey. Trust the process.

Dermatology is a subspecialty that requires years of training—not just in aesthetics, but in diagnosing and treating real skin diseases. 💯

What you see here is real-life clinical dermatology.
Not filters. Not trends.
But conditions that require trained eyes, medical knowledge, and proper management.

From skin cancers like melanoma to inflammatory and infectious diseases, board-certified dermatologists are trained to handle pathologic cases that go far beyond cosmetic concerns. 🔍

Because dermatology isn’t just about looking good—

“Akala ko permanent na ‘to…”

This patient came in feeling discouraged after her ear keloid kept growing after piercing. Aside from the size, it was already affecting her confidence.

✨ I performed ear keloid excision to remove the bulk of the scar and reshape the ear.

But here’s the truth most people don’t know:

👉 Surgery alone is NOT enough.

Keloids have a high chance of coming back if not properly managed. That’s why we combine it with intralesional steroid injections after surgery—to control regrowth and keep the scar flat.

RESULT: A more natural ear contour with ongoing treatment to maintain results 💉

💡 If you have a keloid:
• Don’t wait until it gets bigger
• Combination treatment = best outcomes
• Requires follow-up (this is not a one-time procedure)

Each case is different, and we tailor the treatment depending on your scar behavior.

Ready to treat your keloid the right way?
