If you’ve always had those “mystery” rashes on your face, hands, neck, or just rashes that won’t fully clear, here’s what patch testing could do for you.

Patch testing is the gold‑standard test dermatologists use to diagnose allergic contact dermatitis and identify the exact substances trigger.

How patch testing works:
Day 1: Allergens applied to the back in small chambers.
48 hours later: Patches removed and first reading done.
2-4 days after that: Final reading to catch delayed reactions.

If your rash keeps coming back or you suspect a product or exposure is involved, ask your dermatologist whether patch testing could help identify your trigger.

Fungal acne isn’t caused by bacteria. It’s caused by an overgrowth of Malassezia, a yeast that naturally lives on the skin. 🔍

And when conditions are right (heat, humidity, sweat, occlusion), it overgrows and infects hair follicles. This results to small, itchy, uniform bumps.

→ Acne: varies from whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules, cysts; different sizes
→ Fungal acne: small, uniform 1-2mm bumps; all roughly the same size; no blackheads
