Every story has a beginning, every sentence starts with a few words and big things always start from small things and that is how ACE Medical Center, Legazpi came into being. It all started with a casual conversation of two friends, Dr. Arbel Perete and Dr. Roxas “Bobet” Lee-Llacer, who expressed to each other their desired dream of putting up a hospital managed by doctors of their generation. In August 2015, the two had a transcending conversation with other colleagues over bottle of beers, realizing that they all have the same aspiration—to build a hospital. What seem to be an idea, merely a dream, was slowing transforming into a reality. In 2014, Typhoon Yolanda hit Eastern Visayas, causing devastation in the province of Tacloban City. Medical Missions abound in the area to help fellow Filipinos badly stricken by the typhoon. PCP Bicol were among those who heeded the call. DOH: MAGING HANDA SA EPEKTO NG HAZE SA KALUSUGAN!
Dahil sa hanging Habagat, umabot na sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon at Visayas ang usok mula sa forest fires sa Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Maaaring magdulot ang haze ng hirap sa paghinga, pag-ubo, pananakit ng dibdib, pangangati o pagluluha ng mga mata, at paglala ng mga sakit sa baga tulad ng hika. Dobleng pag-iingat ang kailangan para sa mga bata, matatanda, at mga may dati nang sakit sa baga o puso.

Habang nagpapatuloy ang banta ng haze, mag-suot ng mask kung lalabas ng bahay. Alamin ang lagay ng hangin sa inyong lugar at unahin ang kaligtasan. Maging handa sa banta ng Haze!

Our healthcare personnel recently participated in specialized life-support trainings, including:

🔹 Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Focused on the early recognition and management of pediatric cardiac and respiratory emergencies, airway management, rhythm interpretation, and effective resuscitation.

🔹 Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Conducted in partnership with FDM Training Center, the training enhanced participants’ competencies in cardiac emergency response, airway management, cardiac rhythm recognition, and advanced resuscitation.

These trainings reflect our continuing commitment to patient safety, professional development, clinical readiness, and excellence in healthcare service delivery.

🤝 A New Milestone in Prenatal Care at ACE Medical Center - Legazpi Inc.! 💚❤️

ACE Medical Center - Legazpi Inc. is proud to announce the successful Contract Signing and Partnership with Cordlife Philippines for Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) — a significant step toward bringing more advanced prenatal screening services closer to expectant mothers in Albay.

🧬 NIPT is a safe and highly accurate prenatal screening test that analyzes small fragments of fetal DNA found in the mother’s blood. It helps assess the risk of certain chromosomal conditions, including Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome), without the need for an invasive procedure.

This service provides expectant parents and their healthcare providers with valuable information early in pregnancy, supporting informed decision-making, appropriate prenatal care, and early preparation when further assessment may be needed.

Building a safer healthcare environment at ACE Medical Center - Legazpi!

Our Infection Prevention and Control Committee (IPCC) successfully led a thorough orientation for the newest medical staff of ACE Medical Center - Legazpi. They covered critical safety habits, including hand hygiene, HAI bundles, safe injections, PPE donning/doffing, transmission precautions, and Antimicrobial Stewardship! Next up: further specialized training for our Nursing Service.

We are also excited to announce that we have boosted our Linen Department with more dedicated staff members! The team immediately underwent basic infection control training on linen management, with a heavy focus on strict linen storage, segregation and disposal. Together, we keep our hospital safe, clean, and ready to serve you.

DOH: ALAMIN ANG MGA ALTERNATIBONG PARAAN KUNG WALANG N95 MASK

Sa huling ulat ng DOST-PHIVOLCS, nananatili sa Alert Level 2 ang Bulkang Kanlaon, na nangangahulugang may patuloy na pag-aalboroto ng bulkan at maaaring magkaroon ng ash emissions.
Kung may ashfall sa inyong lugar, iwasang lumabas kung hindi kinakailangan. Ngunit kung kinakailangang lumabas at wala kang N95 mask, may mga alternatibong paraan upang mabawasan ang paglanghap ng volcanic ash.

Bukod sa pagsusuot ng mask, tandaan din ang mga sumusunod:
✅ Protektahan ang mga mata. Magsuot ng salamin o goggles upang maiwasan ang iritasyon dulot ng abo.
✅ Magsuot ng damit na may mahabang manggas. Makakatulong ito upang mabawasan ang direktang pagkakadikit ng abo sa balat.
✅ Manatili sa loob ng bahay kung maaari. Isara ang mga pinto at bintana upang mabawasan ang pagpasok ng ash particles.
✅ Pagkatapos ma-expose sa ashfall, maglinis agad. Hugasan ang mukha at kamay at magpalit ng damit upang maalis ang abo na maaaring dumikit sa katawan.

Makinig at sundin ang mga abiso ng DOST-PHIVOLCS at ng inyong lokal na pamahalaan, lalo na tungkol sa mga lugar na dapat iwasan at mga kinakailangang paglikas.

Day 3 | Standard First Aid Training — Return Demonstration 🩹🚑

On the final day of our Standard First Aid Training, participants put their knowledge and skills into action through a hands-on Return Demonstration designed to simulate realistic emergency situations.

Through proper assessment, practical application, and constructive feedback, our participants strengthened their confidence and readiness to respond appropriately during emergencies. The activity also provided an opportunity to correct mistakes, refine techniques, and demonstrate competency in essential first aid procedures.

Successfully completing this final demonstration reflects our commitment to developing competent, confident, and prepared individuals who are ready to make a difference when emergencies arise.
