🐾 RABIES: Knowing the Signs Can Save a Life!

Rabies is 100% preventable, but once symptoms start, there is no cure. Understanding the stages of the virus is critical for everyone in our community.

Early Warning Signs (Prodromal Stage):
•Fever and headache.
•Unusual tingling, prickling, or itching at the site of the bite.
•General weakness or discomfort.
•Advanced Symptoms (Neurological Stage):
•Hydrophobia: An extreme fear of water or difficulty swallowing.
•Aerophobia: Fear of drafts or fresh air.
•Confusion, agitation, or aggression.
•Hallucinations and muscle spasms.

⚠️ WHAT TO DO IF BITTEN:
•Wash the wound with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes.
•Seek medical attention IMMEDIATELY at the nearest Animal Bite Center.
•Do not wait for symptoms to appear!
