📢 HEALTH ADVISORY: Rabies Awareness & Prevention Lecture

In observance of Rabies Awareness Month this September 2026, the Health Education and Promotion Office (HEPO) and the Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC) hosted a rabies awareness lecture at the OPD Grounds last September 9, 2026, to promote proper animal bite management and responsible pet ownership.

Because rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear but completely preventable, our health educators highlighted crucial lifesaving actions for the community.

Congratulations to our very own Wralem Perk Bautista, Radiologic Technologist II – and C-Arm X-Ray Specialist/Supervisor, for winning 🥇 1st Prize – Conventional Photo Category in the 2026 Higalaay Festival Photo Contest, sponsored by the Oro Photographic Society (OPS)!

Out of 56 registered photographers who submitted a total of 180 photo entries, Perk’s photograph emerged as the 1st Prize winner in the Conventional Photo Category.

The entries were judged by five OPS jurors on September 2 at Marco Alwana Hotel, with the awarding ceremony held on September 8 at Cucina Higala.

A remarkable achievement that showcases his creativity, artistic eye, and passion for photography—proving that excellence can shine both inside and outside the hospital.

🚨 READY WHEN THE GROUND SHAKES!

On September 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM, J.R. Borja General Hospital joined the 2026 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).

Our personnel took part in the drill by practicing the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and following established evacuation protocols, because when an actual earthquake happens, knowing what to do can make all the difference.

The drill is more than just an activity. It’s a chance to test our preparedness, strengthen our response, and remind everyone that safety starts with being prepared.
