Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy: Better Together 💙💛
Many people ask, "What's the difference between Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy?" The answer is simple—they have different goals, but they work hand in hand to help children reach their fullest potential.
Physical Therapy (PT) focuses on helping children develop movement skills such as balance, strength, coordination, posture, walking, running, and other gross motor abilities.
💛 Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children become more independent in everyday activities. This includes dressing, feeding, handwriting, fine motor skills, sensory processing, attention, play, and self-care.
When PT and OT work together, children receive more comprehensive support. A child who develops better balance and core strength through PT may find it easier to sit upright for school tasks, while OT helps them use that stability to write, cut with scissors, or participate confidently in classroom and daily activities.
Different therapies. One shared goal.
Helping children move better, participate more, and live more independently—one step at a time. 🌱
