𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. 🩺 .✦ ݁˖

A Special Conference on Ethics brought to light the nuanced ethical challenges we face in palliative and end-of-life care. An insightful session entitled "The Weight of Comfort: Ethical Dilemmas in End of Life Care of a Patient with Dilated Cardiomyopathy Secondary to Toxic Drug Use", presented by our year level three resident, Dr. Wendysyl de los Reyes Mabale.

Reflecting on these complex clinical cases reminds us that providing true comfort at the end of life requires not only medical expertise, but empathy and critical ethical reflection. Rich discussions and diverse perspectives were shared among our consultants, IM residents, and clinical clerks. Sessions like these remind us why we chose this path.
