The Philippine Mental Health Association Cagayan de Oro - Misamis Oriental Chapter, in partnership with Xavier Center for Mental Health and Research, headed by Dr. Luel Mae Z. Pilayre-Contreras, spent a fruitful Kumustahan Session at Leupapo Inc last May 09, 2026.

Leupapo has been a center in providing shelter and care for families with members who have cancer. Since 2016, Leupapo has accommodated over hundreds of cancer patients; many families have lost members to cancer; however, many others have recovered and remain cancer-free to this day. This is largely due to the combined efforts of Leupapo, its staff, and its founder, as well as the families’ unwavering faith in overcoming their challenges.

The interns of XCMHR provided a timely and engaging kumustahan sessions with the children, and separately, with the parents. In the concluding portion of the event, the parents and their children expressed their gratitude by speaking their feelings of "kaga-an sa pag-bati" or relief after the kumustahan.

The Philippine Mental Health Association Cagayan de Oro - Misamis Oriental Chapter, as the event organizer, wholeheartedly express its gratitude to XCMHR, Dr. Contreras, Leupapo Inc., and the families residing for actively addressing mental health concerns that affects the parents, and the children diagnosed with cancer.

The PMHA CDO - Mis. Or. Chapter joined SM Store CDO Uptown on celebrating their "Mental & Emotional Wellness: Q2 Learning Session on Wellness" through imparting mental health concepts and significant understanding of mental health in the workplace last April 29, 2026.

The participants actively collaborated with the engaging lectures regarding the concept of mental health and its significance in everyday life. They further enhanced their identification of workplace stressors through role playing certain situations that contributes to their overall workplace experiences; upon identifying, they also understood how they may properly respond to such workplace experiences.
