To our two exceptional Nephrology Fellows β today, we celebrate not just the end of your training, but the beginning of a lifetime of healing hearts, minds, and kidneys. π
For the past years, you've walked the long, demanding halls of Northern Mindanao Medical Center with grace, grit, and unwavering compassion. You've been there for the sleepless nights, the complex cases, the delicate conversations, and the quiet victories that only fellow nephrologists truly understand. You've balanced science and soul, often when the weight of it all felt heavier than the fluids we calculate.
Doc Norj and Doc Zhy β you are more than trainees. You are teachers, comforters, leaders, and friends. You've left a lasting mark on our Section of Nephrology and on every patient whose life you've touched. The road ahead will not be easy, but you are more than ready. You are skilled, you are kind, and you are healers in every sense.
As you turn the page to the next chapter, know that the NMMC Nephrology family will always be your home. We are so proud of you. We will miss you. And we cannot wait to see the incredible nephrologists β and humans β you will continue to become.
Congratulations, Docs. Go change the world, one electrolyte at a time. π©ΊπΏ
P.S. In case anyone asks what 2 years of fellowship looks like in numbers (because you know we love data):
β¨ 2,818 ward patients cared for
β¨ 2,497 OPD seen
β¨ 16 kidney biopsies done
β¨ ~312 conferences attended (3x weekly β yes, you did the math right)
β¨ 8 exams survived (oral + long exams, 2x a year) plus 4 NISE
β¨8 quarterly Uro-Nephro conferences
β¨24 hospital-wide M&Ms (because learning from complications is non-negotiable)
