The Department of Health released the Updated Directory of DOH-Designated Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Treatment Hubs and Primary HIV Care Facilities in the Philippines as of June 30, 2026, through Department Circular No. 2026-0433.

Knowing your status is the first step to stopping the virus ‼️

The Philippines recorded 4,633 newly confirmed human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases from January to March 2026, with the National Capital Region (NCR) posting the highest number of new infections, according to the Department of Health-Epidemiology Bureau (DOH-EB).

In observance of National HIV Prevention Month in July, the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) is encouraging Filipinos to adopt evidence-based HIV prevention measures and seek accurate health information to help reduce new infections.

Due to low testing among children, only 55% of all children living with HIV are receiving lifesaving treatment.

This is far below the treatment coverage among adults living with HIV (79%).

This is unacceptable. We must close the gap so that no child is left behind.

What does "ending AIDS" actually mean?

It means reducing new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths by 90% by 2030. That milestone marks the shift from mitigating an epidemic to managing HIV as a chronic disease.

HIV treatment can help people living with HIV achieve an undetectable viral load - meaning they do not transmit HIV to their sexual partners. People with a suppressed viral load have a near-zero risk of transmitting HIV.

In 2025, 30.4 million people living with HIV globally have a suppressed viral load. The target? 38 million by 2030.
