🩺❤️ Hypertension Awareness Month Celebration
“Ilha ang imong numero, protektahi ang imong kasingkasing.”
Today, May 13, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the Hypertension Awareness Month Celebration was successfully conducted at the CDOC PCC–Tablon Dietary Hall. The activity aimed to strengthen public awareness on hypertension prevention, promote healthy lifestyle practices, encourage regular blood pressure monitoring, and emphasize the importance of early detection and proper management of hypertension to prevent serious complications such as stroke, heart disease, and kidney problems.
The program was facilitated by Public Health Unit Officer Katrene Maquiso, RN and HEPO Officer Azil Caalim, RN, and warmly hosted by Jaleah Gwyneth Edullantes, RN and John Paul Cabillo, RN, who guided the flow of the program and interactive activities.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Abel Santini G. Permites, DFM, Guest Speaker, and Dr. Jessica M. Cagadas, MD, DFM, Honored Guest, both from the Philippine Society of Hypertension. The guest speaker shared valuable discussions on the causes and risk factors of hypertension, proper blood pressure monitoring, healthy eating habits, regular exercise, stress management, medication compliance, and the importance of regular consultation and follow-up care.
Participants from the Senior Citizen – Tablon Chapter, Barangay Health Workers, and Barangay Nutrition Scholars of Barangay Tablon actively participated in the lecture, interactive break activities, blood pressure awareness discussions, and open forum where participants were encouraged to ask questions and share experiences regarding hypertension management and healthy living.
The activity was conducted under the leadership of Public Health Unit Chairman Dr. Niña Daffodil Baguio and Acting Chief of Hospital Dr. Geenen T. Macadaeg, with the support of the Nursing Service Division (NSD) headed by Chief Nurse Mam Lorna Monterola, RN, MAN, together with Officer-in-Charge Mam Maria Leah Pelayo, RN, MAN.
Special recognition is also given to the Technical Working Group composed of Trisha Kaye Palangan, Genger Gabut, Ailah Macarambon, Lorely Ayudtod, and Trizia Deanne Omol for their dedication and valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the activity. An intermission number was also gracefully presented by Trizia Deanne Omol, adding energy and enjoyment to the celebration.
The activity served as a reminder that hypertension can be prevented and controlled through healthy lifestyle choices, regular monitoring, and early medical consultation. Through continuous health education and community participation, CDOC PCC–Tablon remains committed to promoting heart health and improving community awareness toward a healthier and stronger future for all. ❤️🩺
