Screen time is not the enemy.
But it’s not the teacher either. 💛

Many parents ask if TV or tablets help children learn to talk.

The truth is, language grows through interaction.

When a child watches TV, the screen talks to them.
But when you talk with your child — ask questions, react, laugh, respond — that’s when real language learning happens.

Hindi kailangan complicated activities.

Even simple moments like:
• talking during meals
• describing what you're doing
• reading a short book together
• playing and naming toys

These everyday conversations help build your child’s language.

Small interactions.
Big difference.

Comment 💛 if you try to make time for conversations with your child.

“Wait lang, lalaki pa siya.”

If you’ve heard this before, read this gently. 💛

It’s true that every child develops differently.

Some may talk earlier, some later.
But here’s what we don’t talk about enough:

Waiting without guidance can delay support. Minsan ito ang nagiging sanhi kung bakit mas lalo pa na dedelay ang skills ng isang bata. Imbis mabigyan na siya agad ng karampatang tulong at supporta, ay lalo lang lumalaki ang delay sa skills nya.

Early support doesn’t mean something is wrong. Early support doesn't equate to labeling.

It means you’re proactive.

It means you care.

Trust your instinct. If you’re worried, it’s okay to ask.

Tandaan, early intervention is key.

Comment 💛 if you believe in early support.

I recently read a quote that said, “The parent you become is the apology you never received.”

And it stopped me.

Because so many of us grew up without hearing “I’m sorry.”

We were hurt, confused, maybe even blamed, and no one circled back to repair it.

We just carried it.

And some of that still lives in us today.

Now when I apologize to my child, it feels bigger than the moment.

It’s not just about the spilled milk or the sharp tone.

It’s about making sure they never have to question whether their feelings matter.

We know what it felt like to not be seen.

So we choose to see them.

We know what it felt like to not be understood.

So we slow down and listen.

That’s how we change the story. ❤️

“Hindi po kayo late. Hindi po kayo kulang. 💛”

Every child develops at their own pace. Comparison steals joy — progress builds confidence.
If your child is trying, that’s already a win.

👉 Save this reminder, dear parents. ♥️

Am I a bad parent?"

Let me tell you this, you are not a bad parent. You are enough and you are doing your best for your child. Don't forget to celebrate your child's wins. In speech therapy, there are no small wins — just meaningful progress. Every sound, every word, every attempt is progress. The tiny approximations, the brave tries, the first eye contact, the effort before the success--as a speech therapist, I know how big those “little” attempts really are. ❤
