Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDPs) complicate 5-10% of all pregnancies worldwide. The month of May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month. This is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the signs and symptoms of this serious pregnancy complication to improve early detection and save lives, not only for you but also your little one.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗣𝗠𝗢𝗦?
PMOS is primarily a: 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 + 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 disorder, not merely an ovarian cyst disease.

The updated name reflects that the disorder is:
𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 → affects multiple hormonal systems
𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 → strongly linked with insulin resistance & metabolic dysfunction
