ACCOMODATIVE EXOTROPIA is a rare type of eye misalignment where the eyes drift outward due to a mismatch between focusing (accommodation) and eye teaming (convergence).

📌Most commonly appears in children over 5 years old or in adolescents.

🔑Often presents as one eye drifting outward when tired or doing near work. It can be intermittent at first and become constant if left untreated.

Phoria in Children is a common, often latent, misalignment of the eyes where they drift only when covered or tired, differing from Constant Strabismus (Tropia).

⚠️ Symptoms include Eye Strain, Headaches, and Blurred or Double Vision.

TYPES: Phorias are categorized by the direction of the latent drift:

🔅Exophoria (Exo): Eyes tend to drift outward.
🔅Esophoria (Eso): Eyes tend to drift inward.
🔅Hyperphoria/Hypophoria: One eye tends to drift upward or downward.

📣 If a child frequently complains of blurry vision, headaches, or displays visible eye turning, a comprehensive eye exam is recommended to determine if the phoria is causing functional issues.
