🚨 LEPTOSPIROSIS AWARENESS: STAY SAFE THIS RAINY SEASON!

As the rainy and flooding season continues, CODMTF reminds everyone to take extra precautions against Leptospirosis.

Floodwater may be contaminated with bacteria that can enter the body through cuts, wounds, or mucous membranes. Avoid floodwater whenever possible, and always use appropriate protective equipment when exposure cannot be avoided.

PROTECT YOURSELF
• Wear boots, gloves, and protective clothing.
• Cover cuts and wounds with waterproof dressings.
• Wash exposed skin immediately with clean water and soap.
• Avoid touching your face while working in floodwater.

ABOUT DOXYCYCLINE
For selected high-risk floodwater exposures, doxycycline prophylaxis may be considered only upon the advice of a physician. Do not self-medicate or repeat doses without medical guidance.

WATCH FOR WARNING SIGNS
Fever, chills, severe headache, muscle aches, red eyes, nausea or vomiting, jaundice, dark or reduced urine, and difficulty breathing may occur.

If you develop symptoms after floodwater exposure, seek medical attention promptly and inform healthcare personnel about your exposure.

Remember: Prevention starts with awareness. Protection starts with action.

DOH: PrEP UP! Piliin ang Combination Prevention Laban sa HIV

Mas epektibong mapoprotektahan ang sarili laban sa HIV sa pamamagitan ng HIV combination prevention. Maaaring kabilang dito ang regular na HIV testing, paggamit ng condom at lubricant, PrEP, at tuloy-tuloy na paggamot kung ikaw ay may HIV.

Alamin ang iyong HIV status at kumonsulta sa pinakamalapit na health center o HIV treatment facility upang malaman ang angkop na HIV prevention option para sa iyo.

DOH: MAG-INGAT SA FLASH FLOOD DULOT NG MALAKAS NA ULAN

Sa huling ulat ng DOST-PAGASA, may dalawang LPA na binabantayan sa loob at labas ng PAR. Dala nito ang malalakas na ulan pwedeng magdulot ng biglaang pagbaha o flash flood sa ilang lugar.

'Pag nasa panganib, ipinapaalala ng DOH na:

✅ Lumikas agad at sumunod sa abiso ng barangay o LGU, lalo na kung nakatira sa tabing-ilog o dagat.
✅ Ilayo ang mga bata sa baha, kanal, sapa, at ilog.
✅ ‘Wag tumawid, maglakad, o magmaneho sa rumaragasang baha.
✅ Mag-ingat sa mga butas sa kalsada at kapag naglalakad sa gilid ng mga ilog o sapa.
✅ Iwasan ang pag-inom at pagbebenta ng alak.
✅ Gumamit ng salbabida o mga gamit na maaaring magpalutang kung hindi maiiwasan lumusong sa baha.

Kung may nalulunod, tumawag agad sa National Emergency Hotline 911 o sa local emergency hotline. Kung ligtas itong gawin, magsagawa ng hands-only CPR habang naghihintay ng tulong.

DOH: Panatilihing Kontrolado ang Blood Sugar Para Maiwasan ang mga Komplikasyon

Ang diabetes ay maaaring magdulot ng mga seryosong komplikasyon tulad ng sakit sa puso, pagkasira ng bato, at pagkabulag.

Kaya mahalagang mapanatiling kontrolado ang blood sugar upang maiwasan ang mga ito. Kumain ng masustansyang pagkain, regular na mag-ehersisyo, inumin ang maintenance na gamot ayon sa payo ng doktor, at regular na magpakonsulta sa inyong healthcare provider.

Magtungo sa pinakamalapit na health center upang magpa-diabe-TEST.
