The orientation and organization of 4C-Collegiate MOVE was successfully conducted with the participation of selected students, mostly young men, as well as male personnel of Catbalogan City Community College.
The activity strengthened the participantsβ understanding of the principles and mission of Men Opposed to Violence Against Women Everywhere (MOVE). It emphasized the important role of men in promoting healthy masculinity, respecting consent and personal boundaries, preventing gender-based violence, responding responsibly to harmful behavior, and creating safer spaces within the College and the wider community.
The CCCC-GAD affairs Office extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Ronaldo N. Espino, Catbalogan City MOVE Coordinator, for generously sharing his time, knowledge, and valuable insights as one of the resource speakers. His meaningful contribution inspired the participants to become responsible allies and advocates for respect, equality, and nonviolence.
Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to College President Dr. Nigel Cornejo for his unwavering support for this significant undertaking. We likewise thank the Vice President for Administration and Dean Dr. Deloria for their inspiring messages during the opening program, which encouraged the participants to embrace leadership grounded in dignity, accountability, and service.
This meaningful event was initiated by the CCCC-GAD Affairs Office, whose commitment made possible another important step toward strengthening gender-responsive advocacy and violence-prevention efforts in the College.
Above all, we express our sincere gratitude to all the students and personnel who actively participated. Your presence and willingness to learn demonstrate that building a safer, more respectful, and gender-fair community is a responsibility shared by everyone.
May this successful gathering mark the beginning of a strong and active 4C-Collegiate MOVE, an organization whose members will lead not only through words, titles, or positions, but through their everyday conduct.
Together, let us choose respect, uphold consent, practise accountability, act for safety, and stand against all forms of violence.
Young men taking a stand for respect, equality, and a violence-free college.
