What’s in your child’s coping skills toolbox? 🧰
Big feelings can be difficult for children to manage, especially when they feel worried, frustrated, overwhelmed, or upset. The good news is that coping is a skill that children can learn and practice.
From slow breathing and grounding to taking a healthy break, using encouraging self-talk, breaking problems into smaller steps, and asking for help, children can build a toolbox of strategies they can turn to when they need them.
💛 Remember: coping skills work best when children practice them during calm moments, not only when emotions are already overwhelming.
