ion. As a unit of the community extension services of the university, it is a medium upon which the SVD mission is realized in the field of mental health.

Two days of working closely with our BFP personnel changed the way I see them. I used to think of firefighters as brusko, isog, kusgan โ€” but this close encounter allowed me to see the very human side behind the uniform.

They carry enormous responsibility, face danger and trauma, and yet continue to show up for our communities. I came away with an even deeper respect for what they do and a stronger realization that those who take care of us also need to be taken care of.

Grateful and honored to be part of the journey toward building a wellness and peer support system for our firefighters. โ˜บ๏ธ
