WHAT A PRODUCTIVE AND MEANINGFUL WEEK AT Q VISION!
This week was truly one for the books! From pediatric eye care and specialty consultations to Orthokeratology, vision rehabilitation, emergency cases, and premium lens dispensing—our hearts are full, and our energy is definitely running on low battery!
But every patient, every case, and every milestone reminds us why we love what we do.
MONDAY | Pediatric & Ophthalmology Day 👧🏻👦🏻
We started the week with a pediatric referral from Carcar District Hospital involving a young patient who sustained a traumatic eye injury following a motor vehicle accident. The patient presented with esotropia, with possible 6th cranial nerve palsy considered in our initial assessment, pending further diagnostic evaluation and MRI confirmation.
We also had consultations and follow-up care with our very own Ophthalmology Consultant, Dr. Mark. 👨🏻⚕️
TUESDAY | Pediatric Assessment & Premium Lens Dispensing 👓
Another meaningful pediatric assessment—this time referred by Dr. Kevin, Pediatric Ophthalmologist—for a young patient with very high astigmatism of −4.50 D cylinder.
The day also included:
👓ZEISS Progressive Lens Dispensing
📝Patient consultations with Dr. Mark
📝 Continued follow-up and collaborative eye care
WEDNESDAY | Orthokeratology, Special Corneal Case & Ophthalmology Consultation
A full day of specialty eye care with:
* Orthokeratology fitting and assessment for 1 pediatric patient
* Orthokeratology fitting and assessment for 1 adult patient
✨ Evaluation of a special ophthalmic case requiring referral to a Corneal Specialist for further assessment and possible corneal transplantation
✨ Ophthalmology consultations with Dr. Mark
Every case reminds us of the importance of proper evaluation, timely referral, and collaborative care. 💙
THURSDAY | Pediatric Strabismus Day — 7 OUT OF 7! 🎉
What a day! Exhausting, challenging, but incredibly fulfilling!
Together with our Pediatric Strabismus Ophthalmologist, we managed 7 out of 7 patients, including:
5 special pediatric cases involving Strabismus and Myopia
1 adult case with EOR and Cataract
1 emergency ocular case involving accidental chemical/acid exposure to the eye
Ophthalmology consultations with our specialist team
This day truly drained our energy—but filled our hearts with purpose.
FRIDAY | Another Pediatric & Specialty Eye Care Day — 5 OUT OF 5! 🙌
Another productive day with:
A pediatric referral from ACES Medical Center for EOR with Nystagmus
Orthokeratology dispensing
Eyeglasses dispensing
Geriatric assessment referred by Dr. Kate
5 out of 5 patients successfully attended to!
SATURDAY | Vision Rehabilitation, Ortho-K Follow-Up, Eye Emergency & Premium Progressive Dispensing
Saturday was another energy-draining—but deeply rewarding—day!
We had vision rehabilitation sessions with 3 pediatric patients. 👧🏻👦🏻
And to our dear pediatric patient, Gabriel—thank you for trusting us with your rehabilitation journey. You definitely brought my energy down to LOW BATT today! But seeing your progress makes every bit of effort worth it. 💙
We also welcomed back one of our Orthokeratology patients for a 1-day follow-up after the first night of Ortho-K lens wear.
Early follow-up is an important part of the Ortho-K journey, allowing us to carefully monitor:
Corneal response and treatment pattern
Lens centration and fitting relationship
Unaided visual acuity improvement
Ocular health and patient comfort
Because successful Orthokeratology is not just about dispensing a lens—it is about careful monitoring, precision fitting, and consistent follow-up.
We also attended to an urgent traumatic eye case involving a mother who sustained a corneal abrasion after her child accidentally scratched her eye with a fingernail.
A simple everyday accident can cause significant eye pain and corneal injury—another important reminder that eye trauma should never be ignored and requires timely professional assessment.
We also completed 2 premium progressive lens dispensings featuring:
✨ ZEISS SmartLife Pure
✨ Apollo SmartLife with Transitions® Gen S™
AND NOW… SUNDAY IS FOR REST!
After such a productive, challenging, and meaningful week, it is finally time to recharge.
Our heartfelt thanks to our patients and families for continuously trusting us with your eye care. Thank you as well to our hardworking interns who assisted throughout this very busy week, and to Dr. Mark and Dr. Kevin for the collaboration, expertise, and dedication to our patients.
Behind every consultation, every referral, every specialty fitting, and every rehabilitation session is one shared goal:
To provide comprehensive, collaborative, and patient-centered eye care.
