The Personal Services Itemization and Plantilla of Personnel (PSIPOP) identifies the authorized government positions, including their corresponding position titles and unique item numbers, and serves as a basis for personnel and position-related actions in government agencies.

Accordingly, there is no record in VSMMC’s official personnel and plantilla records indicating Mr. Villareal as an appointed or employed personnel of the Hospital.

This clarification is issued to prevent the public from mistakenly associating the individual and the reported incident with VSMMC or its personnel.

VSMMC remains committed to providing the public with accurate, verified, and responsible information and encourages the verification of employment and institutional affiliations before such claims are publicly attributed to the Hospital.

We are proud to present the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Project of Dr. Frannie Jane G. Nillama, entitled: “Single Center Retrospective Study of Prevalence, Risk Factors, and Outcomes in Catheter-Related Bloodstream Infection Among End-Stage Renal Disease Patients on Hemodialysis in Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.”

Through evidence-based research, data-driven insights, and continuous quality improvement, this project highlights the importance of infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, staff education, and continuous surveillance in promoting safer and better patient outcomes.

A new Pediatrics study finds that maternal RSV vaccination and infant immunization are safe and result in high levels of neutralizing antibodies whether they are given alone or in combination.

Both the infant immunization and maternal vaccination were thoroughly tested in separate clinical trials, and most infants only need one for protection. However, both are called for in certain high-risk situations as well as when the vaccination status of the pregnant parent is unknown or when the infant is born less than 14 days after their pregnant parent was vaccinated.

Researchers studied 181 mother-infant pairs to compare RSV protection combinations. No serious vaccine-related side effects were reported in mothers or babies.

“RSV remains a primary cause of hospitalizations and early infection may lead to a lifetime of increased morbidity from a respiratory disease,” authors of the commentary wrote. “These products represent tremendous advances in our ability to protect the most vulnerable infants.”

Rest assured that our Emergency Department and Inpatient Care Services will remain fully operational to continue serving urgent and essential healthcare needs. Additionally, SugBUCAS Sudlon Center will remain open for ambulatory surgical and urgent care services while SugBUCAS Capitol will be closed for the duration of the holiday.
