A heartfelt thank you to the Municipality of Sibonga for warmly welcoming and hosting the 12th BNS Summit 2026! 💜✨️

To Mayor Hon. Caroline S. Bacaltos, Vice Mayor Mariano Laude, and the entire Sibonga team, thank you for your generosity, hospitality, and all-out support in making this year’s summit a meaningful and successful gathering of our Barangay Nutrition Scholars.

Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro joined Barangay Nutrition Scholars from across the province during the, 12th BNS Summit, held September 23, 2026 at the Bonifacio R. Bacaltos Sports and Cultural Center in Sibonga.

With the theme “BNS: Champion of Nutrition Preparedness and Community Resilience,” the summit celebrated the vital role of BNS in advancing nutrition and building resilient communities. 💜

The Cebu Provincial Nutrition Council Secretariat facilitated the 3rd Quarterly Meeting of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS).

The meeting provided an avenue to discuss program updates, strengthen coordination, and address concerns in the implementation of nutrition programs at the barangay level through the CPNC PNAO, Dr. Raine Canoy.

The CPNC remains committed to strengthening community-based nutrition programs for healthier communities.

📌NutriLeap: Advancing Cebu’s Zero Hunger and Nutrition Action Plan! 💜✨

The Provincial Government of Cebu, led by Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro, together with our Health Consultant, Dr. Elisse Nicole Catalan, engaged with the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF) for an Executive Briefing on the NutriLEAP Program on September 7, 2026.

The discussion focused on strengthening nutrition interventions and addressing malnutrition among vulnerable children, with Dr. Sheila C. Faciol, Provincial Health Officer II, presenting the province’s malnutrition situation, key recommendations, and strategic directions.

The engagement was supported by our regional partners from NNC Region VII and DOH-FHS Nutrition Region VII, together with the Provincial Nutrition Action Office and Nutrition Secretariat.

Together, we advance stronger, coordinated, and responsive nutrition programs for every Cebuano 💜

💜🫱🏽‍🫲🏼✨August 27, 2026: Courtesy Call & Ocular Visit in Sibonga!

The Barangay Nutrition Scholars’ Association conducted a courtesy call and ocular visit to the Municipality of Sibonga as part of the preparations for the 12th BNS Summit, an annual event supporting the vital services and contributions of BNS workers across the Province of Cebu.

The team was warmly welcomed by Acting Mayor Mariano Laude, on behalf of Mayor Caroline Bacaltos, and also paid a courtesy visit to Municipal Health Officer Dr. Fe Lynn R. Tampon and Public Health Supervisor Mr. Charles Philip Davis, who graciously assisted and guided the team throughout the engagement.

Together, we continue to strengthen our commitment to nutrition and community health. 🌱💜

📊📂 Sept. 3–4, 2026: Nutrileap Baseline Activity

The Cebu Provincial Health Office – Nutrition Section, in partnership with the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF), kicked off the groundwork for a long-term nutrition transformation through the Zuellig Nutrileap Baseline Activity.

The initiative supports Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro’s commitment to making health and nutrition key priorities of the province and aims to strengthen systems that will institutionalize nutrition as a sustained provincial priority.

Under the leadership of Dr. Sheila C. Faciol, Cebu Provincial Health Officer II, strong support for the nutrition program has already translated into significant progress. In her first nearly three months in service, FY 2026 nutrition budget utilization has reached 64%, a substantial increase from 0.2% in 2024 and 2% in 2025.

This progress reflects renewed leadership, commitment, and action toward building a stronger and more sustainable nutrition system for Cebu.

🌸🤰💜August 25, 2026 | BUNTIS CONGRESS 2026 🌸

The Toledo City Health Department, in partnership with the Cebu Provincial Health Office and Nutrition Section, successfully held the Buntis Congress on August 25, 2026 at the CEBECO III PDA Hall, City of Toledo, with the meaningful theme:

🌸 “KALIDAD NA PANGANGALAGA SA INA, KALUSUGAN NG SANGGOL MAY GARANTIYA.” 🌸

The event was graced by no less than Dr. Nikki Catalan, Health Consultant of Cebu Province, whose presence and support added significance to this important gathering dedicated to maternal and child health.

This meaningful gathering was initiated through the joint efforts and advocacy of Dr. Sheila C. Faciol and Dr. Abjel Khan D. Espera, in support of promoting breastfeeding among pregnant and lactating mothers. Their shared commitment to maternal and child health paved the way for an avenue where mothers could be empowered with knowledge, encouraged to make informed choices, and reminded of the lifelong benefits of breastfeeding. 🤱👶

The Buntis Congress brought together mothers, health professionals, and advocates in a celebration of quality maternal care, proper nutrition, breastfeeding, and healthy beginnings.

Through the continued dedication of our health leaders and partners, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every mother receives quality care and every baby has the best possible start in life. 🌱💕
