One of the greatest privileges of my work is being invited into spaces where people feel safe enough to have honest conversations.

As a therapist, I have learned that people rarely need someone who has all the answers. More often, they need someone who can help create a space where honest conversations become possible.

That was exactly what I experienced during the Men's Mental Health Workshop with PhilHealth Cebu.

We explored stress, masculinity, emotional well-being, and meaning—not only through ideas and discussions, but through stories, thoughtful questions, shared laughter, and genuine connection. What made the session memorable wasn't simply the topics we covered, but the openness and courage of the participants. They reminded one another, perhaps without realizing it, that none of us has to carry life's burdens alone.

I left the workshop feeling hopeful. Conversations like these remind me that when we create spaces where men can speak openly without judgment, insight, connection, and even humor naturally follow.

The best workshops are never about having all the right answers. They are about creating a space where people can discover something true about themselves and one another. I believe we did just that.

Thank you, PhilHealth Cebu, for your trust and for the opportunity to serve. It was an honor to journey alongside all of you, and I hope this is only the beginning of many more meaningful conversations about men's mental health.

Some speaking engagements feel less like lectures and more like passing a torch.

It was a privilege to deliver a keynote address for the 4th BS Psychology Pinning Ceremony of Cebu Normal University.

A pin is a symbol of achievement, but it is also a quiet reminder of responsibility. Today, these students celebrate years of study and hard work. Tomorrow, someone will sit across from them carrying grief, anxiety, trauma, hope, or uncertainty—and entrust them with a part of their story.

That is the sacred privilege of our profession.

One of the messages I shared with them was this:

"You do not have to become the perfect psychologist. You only have to become a deeply human one."

Knowledge and competence matter. We must continue learning, growing, and honing our craft. But beyond all the theories and techniques, people are asking something much deeper:

"Am I safe with you?"

I hope that as they continue their journey, they never lose sight of the humanity that called them into psychology in the first place.

Thank you to the faculty, organizers, and especially the students of Cebu Normal University for inviting me to be part of such a meaningful milestone. It was an honor to celebrate with all of you, and I look forward to seeing the kind of psychologists you will become.

Congratulations to the newest pin recipients. May you wear your pin not only as a symbol of what you have accomplished, but also as a reminder of the people you will one day serve.

“In uncertainty, we discover our freedom. In each other, we find our strength.”
Even when the ground feels unsteady, we are reminded — life’s fragility is also its invitation to care, to connect, and to live more deeply. 💛

This is OUR story.
When the ground trembled, something in us awakened.
We were reminded that life is never fixed — it moves, shifts, and surprises us.
And yet, amid the uncertainty, we reached for one another.
In our stories, we found ground — in our kindness, we found meaning.

May we keep sharing what it means to be tao, isigkatawo, and Cebuano —
to rise, to care, and to create hope together. 💛

“Ang akong pagkatawo, dili mahuman kung wala ka.”
To be human is to be isigkatawo —
a being-with, a shared becoming.
Inspired by Visayan wisdom and existential thought.

🌿 In the Midst of Shaking Ground, We Stand Together

Last night’s earthquake in Cebu reminded us all how fragile and unpredictable life can be. In a single moment, the ground beneath us shifted — and with it, so did our sense of safety and certainty.

It is natural to feel fear, grief, or even a deep questioning of “why.” These feelings are not signs of weakness — they are signs of being fully human.

At Exordium Existential Psychotherapy, we believe that even in the face of uncertainty, there is space for meaning, connection, and hope.

We cannot control when the earth moves — but we can choose how to respond.

We cannot erase the fear — but we can face it together, so no one has to carry it alone.

We cannot restore what was lost overnight — but we can begin the slow, steady work of rebuilding with courage and compassion.

If you find yourself unsettled, anxious, or searching for ground within yourself, please know: you are not alone. Reaching out for support is not just about relief — it is about reclaiming your power to choose connection, healing, and resilience in the midst of uncertainty.

We are here to walk with you — not with easy answers, but with open hearts, listening ears, and the reminder that even in fragile moments, life offers us the chance to live more deeply, together.

Stepping into Uncertainty
Anxiety often feels like something to escape — but what if it’s actually a doorway? This experiential workshop invites you to explore uncertainty and anxiety not as enemies, but as a sign of aliveness and possibility. Through guided exercises, reflection, and dialogue, we’ll learn how to meet uncertainty with curiosity, compassion, and courage. Instead of avoiding it, we’ll walk into it — together.
