Last week meditation session;

Sometimes, patience alone is not enough. What we need is strategic patience.

The Buddha called this Kṣānti—a virtue that encompasses three qualities: endurance, forbearance, and acceptance.

Because in real life, these virtues will be tested—again and again.

True patience is not simply waiting. It is the wisdom to endure what cannot be changed, the restraint to respond without being consumed by anger, and the acceptance to meet reality as it is.

And sometimes, knowing when to wait, when to act, and when to let go is the true practice of patience.

See you tomorrow meditation session.

Last meditation session topic;

Buddha said: A wicked man who abuses the good one, is like one looking upwards and spitting against heaven; his spittle does not soil the heavens, but returns on himself. Or, when the wind is contrary, like one who aims dust at another, the dust does but return against him who threw it. You cannot injure the good man, the misery will devolve on yourself.

Last meditation session topic;

As practitioners, we know that our quality of life depends on the conditions before us. These conditions are tightly linked to our habits. So, what should we do once we establish good habits?

According to the Buddha, the next step is to balance them. This is beautifully represented by the Ensō (the Zen circle). To draw a perfect circle, every part must be considered and balanced.

For example, if we develop the good habit of making money, we must balance it by contributing to charity. Similarly, when we exercise, good rest and sleep are equally important. Finally, studying the Dharma must be paired with meditation. In this manner, life becomes balanced, and we feel truly fulfilled.

Good day Fellow Practitioners!

This is to inform you that there will be no meditation session tomorrow due to other important events.

In line with this, I invite everyone to drop by the temple and offer incense to our deceased love ones whom help us made who we are today.

It is now the start of Ulambana tradition (Ghost month/Filial piety month)

Last meditation session topic;

In Buddhist practice, our awareness of how habits form is the single largest contributor to the quality of our life.

There are two major habit-forming methods:

The Reward System: This involves a loop of reminder, routine, and reward.

The Mirror System: This is mostly used in spiritual practice, where we imitate the speech and actions of a deity or sage we wish to become like.

Last meditation session topic;

The Buddha affirmed that regardless of religion, social status, or worldly conditions, every individual possesses an equal opportunity to achieve enlightenment. This universal potential stems from the tathagatagarbha, or the inherent “womb of enlightenment,” present within all sentient beings. The primary barriers to realizing this promised awakening are the constraints of our physical existence and mental obscurations.

Consequently, maintaining proper nutrition, sleep, movement, and meditation is essential to transcending these physical and spiritual limitations.

Join us tomorrow meditation session.
