Amy Winehouse said “They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said no, no, no”. In dentistry, we say yes, yes, yes to rehab!

What is rehab in dentistry?
We call this oral rehab. It is a comprehensive dental process which combines restorative, cosmetic and surgical procedures such as oral prophylaxis, tooth fillings, crowns/bridges, extraction and dentures to entirely rebuild a patient’s mouth, restore function, health and aesthetics. Just like what we did with our patient’s case here:

The patient had suffered from attrition on his 12,11 and 21 (upper right lateral incisor, upper right central incisor and upper left central incisor) due to bruxism with carious lesions on 12 and 11. Calcular deposits were also present with 2 root fragments and multiple missing teeth on the upper arch.

Our oral rehab:
✅oral prophylaxis
✅intentional RCT on 12 and 11 to prevent microleakage after restoring them with jacket crowns (build up was also done prior to tooth preparations)
✅extraction of 2 root fragments on the upper arch
✅3-unit zirconia individual crowns on 12,11,21 to fix the attrited teeth
✅simple acrylic denture to replace all the missing teeth on the upper arch
✅night guard to protect further damage of teeth from bruxism
