CRMC Strengthens Frontline Capacity Through Regional Poisoning Management Training

The Cotabato Regional and Medical Center – Toxicology Unit, in partnership with the Bangsamoro Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Southern Philippines Medical Center SPMC Advanced Toxicology Specialty Center, conducted a Training Workshop on the Recognition, Diagnosis, Initial Management and Referral of Poisoning and Snakebite Cases on April 14, 2026 at Datu Kutob Ampatuan Auditorium, Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur.

The activity gathered RHU midwives, nurses, and doctors from Maguindanao del Norte and Maguindanao del Sur, as well as healthcare professionals from various hospitals, strengthening a unified approach to poisoning management across different levels of care.

Through a comprehensive program of expert-led lectures and interactive discussions, we enhanced participants’ knowledge in toxicology services, clinical evaluation and toxidromes, decontamination procedures, dose computation, and poison prevention in home and workplace settings.

The training also featured hands-on workshops on snakebite care, telephone referral, preparation of activated charcoal and soap suds e***a, and pressure bandage immobilization—providing participants with practical skills essential in managing poisoning emergencies.

This initiative reflects our continued commitment to strengthening the capacity of healthcare providers, fostering collaboration among institutions, and improving patient outcomes across the region. đź’Ż

Happy Birthday, Doc Ella! 🎉

On this special day we celebrate the remarkable “half‑life” of your inspiring leadership—always stable, ever‑growing and endlessly supportive of the entire CRMC Toxicology family.

Your “dose” of wisdom, compassion and scientific rigor has a therapeutic window that never narrows, turning every challenging “toxic exposure” into an opportunity of getting better.

May your year ahead be filled with a flawless safety profile of joy, good health and countless moments that exceed even the highest “LD₅₀” of happiness and may the “biomarkers” of love and gratitude keep rising everyday.

Thank you for being the gold‑standard reference we all look up to—here’s to another year of learning and growth! 🤩🪻🎂💜
