𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗕𝗔 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗔 𝗡𝗢𝗡-𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘?

A child who is 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹 does not mean they cannot communicate. 💙 Communication can be taught, developed, and supported—and 𝗔𝗕𝗔 (Applied Behavior Analysis) can play an important role in that journey.

Through individualized ABA intervention, we can help children:

🗣️ 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – teaching sounds, words, and eventually functional language when appropriate.

👀 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 – important foundations for learning communication.

👉 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 – teaching functional communication instead of relying only on crying, grabbing, or other behaviors.

💬 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 – helping children use words or other communication methods for meaningful purposes, such as requesting, answering, commenting, and expressing needs.

🤲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 – when spoken language is not yet available, ABA can support the use of gestures, pictures, sign language, or AAC as appropriate.

⭐ 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗔𝗕𝗔 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗼 “𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸.” We teach 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—helping a child express their wants, needs, feelings, and ideas in a way that works for them.

Every child has a different pace and different strengths. Some children may develop spoken language, while others may communicate using AAC or other forms of communication. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. 🤍
