Every behavior has a reason behind it. Behavior is a form of communication, and understanding its function helps us provide meaningful support and teach more appropriate ways to express needs.
✨ The 4 Functions of Behavior:
❤️ Attention – seeking interaction, response, or connection from others
🧡 Escape – avoiding or delaying a task, demand, or situation
💛 Access to Tangibles – gaining access to preferred items, activities, or rewards
💚 Automatic Reinforcement / Sensory – behavior that is maintained by internal sensory effects
