This case involved a patient who sought to replace an old denture that had orthodontic brackets attached for aesthetic reasons. While this may have reflected the patient's previous preference, adding braces to a denture does not provide orthodontic benefits and may have several disadvantages, including increased plaque and food accumulation, difficulty in cleaning, a higher risk of staining and bacterial buildup.

A new custom-made denture was fabricated to restore both function and aesthetics. This now provides a more natural-looking smile, is easier to clean and maintain, and offers improved comfort and confidence.

If your dentures no longer fit comfortably or meet your expectations, we encourage you to consult with a dental professional to discuss the most appropriate treatment options.

Why Ear Infections Are More Common During the Rainy Season

Ear infections increase during the rainy season due to higher humidity and moisture exposure.

Common conditions include:
• Otitis media (middle ear infection) – more frequent in children, often following colds or URTIs
• Fungal otitis externa (swimmer’s ear) – promoted by damp, humid environments

Risk factors:
• Water trapped in the ear
• Increased bacterial and fungal growth
• Upper respiratory infections

The patient presented with a foreign body sensation in the upper front tooth region. Clinical examination and diagnostic imaging revealed an impacted supernumerary tooth (an extra tooth).

Given its location and potential to affect the surrounding teeth, the supernumerary tooth was carefully removed to help prevent future complications, including crowding and alignment issues.

Timely diagnosis and treatment are important in preserving long-term oral health and supporting a healthy smile.
