The researchers argue that movement problems aren't just side effects of ADHD—they're actually a fundamental part of how ADHD develops in the brain and body.

Why do so many kids with ADHD struggle with physical coordination, handwriting, and motor skills?
Traditional thinking says: "They have attention problems → therefore they have motor problems."
This study challenges that and says: "Actually, motor development and brain development are deeply connected from the very beginning."

Many school tasks require fine motor skills (writing, drawing, using scissors). Kids with ADHD struggle academically partly because these physical tasks are genuinely harder for them—it's not just "not paying attention."
