To those who think WARD NURSING is โjust basicโ โ
Please understand this: the ward is not benign. IT NEVER WAS .
Behind every endorsement, every chart, every IV line they fixโthere are lives they are constantly holding together. Hindi lang ito trabaho na โroutine.โ Hindi ito basta-basta. Every shift is a balance of critical thinking, quick decisions, and quiet endurance.
Sila ang unang nakakakita ng pagbabago sa pasyente. Sila ang unang tumatakbo kapag may nangyayari. Sila ang huling nagpapahinga dahil iniisip pa rin nila kung stable pa ba ang lahat.
They carry multiple patients, multiple conditions, multiple responsibilitiesโsabay-sabay. Walang pause. Walang easy mode. Hindi nila luxury ang โfocus on one case only.โ They juggle lives.
And yet, somehow, itโs easy for some to look at ward nurses as โless than.โ
But the truth isโ
They are the constant.
They are the ones who stay.
They are the ones who make sure orders are not just writtenโbut safely carried out.
Hindi madali ang ward. Hindi ito stepping stone lang. It is a battlefield of compassion, skill, and resilience.
They donโt ask to be praised.
They donโt ask to be put above anyone.
They ask for RESPECT.
Hindi nila hawak ang isang pasyente lang.
Sabay-sabay nila silang iniingatan.
Ward nursing is not lesser.
It is not easy.
And it is definitely not something you can judge from the outside.
Because at the end of the day, buhay ang hawak nila.
At hindi kailanman naging โmadaliโ ang responsibilidad na โyon.
