THE CLINICIANS
Dr. Eddie Concepcion trained at the Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. He is the president of the SMIC Institute of TCM and is a board director of the Integrative Medicine for Alternative Health Care Systems (INAM). Dr. Joy Urbano-Concepcion is a pathologist and has undergone acupuncture training under Dr. Tsun Nin Li of Stanford University, California and
at the Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China. She is a faculty member at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH) and a consultant of The Philippine Children’s Medical Center where she is a pathologist. She finished medicine at UERMMMC. Dr. Marika Biag trained at SMIC Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is an anaesthesiologist, a medical graduate of University of Sto. Amelita Cadiao completed the comprehensive Traditional Chinese Medicine course at the SMIC Institute of TCM. She is both a PITAHC Certified Acupuncturist and TCM Practitioner. She is a registered nurse and belongs to the Missionary Servants of the Blessed Sacrament. She is also a faculty member and clinic supervisor of the SMIC Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Kristle Chua completed the comprehensive Traditional Chinese Medicine course at the SMIC Institute of TCM and her Masters in Acupuncture at the Tianjin University of TCM, China. She is a registered nurse and a faculty member and clinic supervisor of the SMIC Institute of TCM. Aside from being a PITAHC Certified Acupuncturist, she is also a certified TCM practitioner. Dr. Joseph Gancia graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and practiced in general/cardiovascular/oncology and TCM with special interest in medical research. He earned his TCM training with the UP-AKKAP program initially and at the Sydney Institute of TCM. He has collaborated in researches on cancer treatments while in Australia and has received recognition and several awards for those efforts. Dr. Benjamin Sison completed Traditional Chinese Medicine course at the HealthDev Institute (Ateneo) where he also holds clinic. He is also an acupuncturist & proprietor of Health & Harmony Acupuncture & Aesthetic Dermatology Clinic. Dr. Philip Tan-Gatue is a graduate of UP Integrated Liberal Arts and Medicine (INTARMED) program. He is a faculty member of the UP College of Medicine, Traditional Medicine Unit and the SMIC Institute of TCM. He trained at Nanjing University of TCM in China and at the SMIC Institute of TCM. Dr. Xie Bitamug, Mark Calano, PhD, and Jazel Khu are our new practitioners who are all graduates of SMIC Institute of TCM which is a partner school of the Tianjin University of TCM, the flagship school on TCM for foreigners, in China. Hazel Escueta is a Cranio-Sacral Therapist trained at the Osteopathic College of Ontario and will soon do internship, the final phase of her training in Acupuncture at the SMIC Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
