A new month also means a new season and with the rainy weather comes changes in your skin. ☔✨

Increased humidity, sweating, and prolonged moisture can make fungal infections, eczema, acne, and bacterial skin infections more common. Fortunately, a few simple habits can go a long way in keeping your skin healthy.

Here are a few rainy season reminders:
💧 Keep your skin clean and dry.
👕 Change out of wet clothes promptly.
🧴 Moisturize regularly to support your skin barrier.
🧦 Wear breathable clothing and footwear.
🚫 Avoid self-medicating persistent rashes.

If your skin problem persists for more than two weeks, it's time to consult a board-certified dermatologist. Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent complications.

Let's welcome July by taking care of our skin—rain or shine. 🌦️

Raised scar that won’t stop growing? It could be a KELOID.

A keloid is a type of scar that grows beyond the original wound. Unlike a normal scar, it continues to grow even after the skin has healed. Keloids may develop after acne, ear piercing, surgery, burns, cuts, vaccinations, or even minor skin injuries.

Common symptoms include:
• Raised, thick, firm scar
• Pink, red, brown, or darker than the surrounding skin
• Itching, tenderness, or pain
• Gradual enlargement over time

The good news is that keloids can be treated, although they may require multiple sessions depending on their size and location.

Early treatment often leads to better outcomes. If you notice a scar becoming raised, itchy, or growing larger, don’t wait for it to worsen.

Noticing gradual hair thinning? It may be more than just normal hair shedding. 🧔‍♂️

Androgenetic alopecia, also known as pattern hair loss, is the most common cause of progressive hair thinning in both men and women. Early treatment offers the best chance of slowing hair loss and preserving existing hair.

Treatment options may include:
• Topical medications
• Oral medications (when appropriate)
• Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
• Other evidence-based therapies tailored to your condition

Don’t wait until hair loss becomes advanced. Early consultation can make a significant difference. 👩🏻‍🦳

Allergic Contact Dermatitis: More Than Just a Rash

Redness, itching, swelling, blisters, and scaling- these are common signs of allergic contact dermatitis. This skin reaction occurs when your immune system responds to a substance you're allergic to. Common triggers include metals (such as nickel), fragrances, cosmetics, topical medications, rubber, and certain plants.

The good news? With accurate diagnosis, identification of the trigger, and appropriate treatment, symptoms can improve significantly and future flare-ups can often be prevented.

The photos show the remarkable improvement of our patient's skin after proper dermatologic evaluation and treatment.

If you're experiencing a persistent itchy rash that doesn't seem to go away, don't ignore it. Early consultation can help identify the cause and prevent chronic skin changes.

What are Common Warts (Verruca Plana)?

Verruca plana (flat warts) are small, smooth, flat-topped skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), most commonly affecting the face, backs of the hands, and legs. They are especially common in children and young adults and often appear in clusters because they can spread through scratching or shaving.

Although harmless, flat warts may persist or increase in number. A board-certified dermatologist can provide an accurate diagnosis and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

If you have persistent or bothersome warts, we’re here to help.
