March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month

On March 19, 2026, the UP-PGH Division of Gastroenterology, in collaboration with the Division of Medical Oncology, successfully held a Lay Forum dedicated to raising awareness on colon cancer.

Through an engaging discussion, open Q&A, and a “Facts vs Myths” segment, we empowered patients, families, and the community with knowledge that can save lives. From understanding the risk factors and symptoms of colon cancer to the importance of early screening, every conversation brought us one step closer to better prevention and early detection.

Colon cancer is preventable, treatable, and beatable.
Let’s continue this campaign and encourage everyone to get screened.

The UP-Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Division of Gastroenterology – Section of Advanced Endoscopy is inviting qualified Gastroenterology fellows to apply for the one-year Fellowship Training in Advanced Endoscopy 2026.

◽️Training Focus:
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)

◽️Important Dates:
- Deadline of Application: November 15, 2025
- Qualifying Examination: November 25, 2025
- Practical Evaluation: November 27, 2025
