Why I give out clinic medical records to my patients - ROJoson
-To facilitate my explanation to patients of my findings, diagnosis, and recommendations with written notes, drawings and diagrams.
-To promote understanding and avoid misunderstanding and misinterpretation of my oral explanations.
-To get an informed consent or refusal on diagnostic tests and treatment.
-For them to review the explanations that I gave in the clinic.
-For them to have a copy of their medical records for continuity of care by me or by other physicians after the medical consult and in the future.
-To provide / grant them with their rights to medical records.

Yolanda Reyes - photo taken in 2013 - she was aged 82 years old. She was 10 years in remission for breast cancer in 2013 (operated on 2003). August 4, 2026 - a relative told me she recently died of a medical cause (not breast cancer) at age 95. Thus, she was 23 years in breast cancer remission before she died of another cause. Long remission possible with breast cancer. Also, this also dispels the common fear of Filipinos on surgery in old age people (Yoly was 72 when I operated on her) and thus, usually do not like their elderly relatives undergo operation even when it is indicated and useful. Yoly was able to live 23 years more after the surgery. With no surgery on the breast cancer, she might not have live this long.

Colloid Adenomatous Nodule in 48 /F – Medical Suppressive Therapy

48/F; with clinically evident thyroid nodule, left; 3 cm, solid, firm, with no suspicious signs of malignancy; ultrasound – 3.2 cm solid, TIRADS 4; needle biopsy – benign follicular disease; trial of medical suppressive therapy with levothyroxine at 200mcg /day; within 3 months -50% reduction in size (1.5cm); to continue levothyroxine at 200mcg/day; to be followed up.

COLLOID ADENOMATOUS NODULE – 3 cm – RESPONDING TO MEDICAL SUPPRESSIVE THERAPY WITHIN 3 MONTHS

It is NOT true that majority of colloid adenomatous nodules do not respond to medical suppressive therapy.
My experience (after more than 40 years): with proper dose and dosaging, majority of colloid adenomatous nodules not more than 5 cm in size respond to medical suppressive therapy – majority will shrink to a size that is not clinically noticeable and no need for operation.
